Introduction

Knee joint ultrasound is one of the basic methods for examining soft tissues in the knee area in PMR, orthopedics, and sports medicine. During examination, we primarily evaluate the suprapatellar recess, quadriceps femoris tendon, ligamentum patellae, collateral ligaments, periarticular bursae, and when necessary, the popliteal area with Baker's cyst. The examination is particularly beneficial for anterior, medial, and lateral knee pain, as it allows rapid assessment of effusion, synovitis, tendinopathy, enthesopathy, bursitis, and ligamentous involvement.
