Introduction

Shoulder joint ultrasound is one of the fundamental imaging methods in PMR, orthopedics, and sports medicine because it enables rapid correlation of clinical findings with morphological and dynamic imaging. During examination, we primarily evaluate the rotator cuff tendons (m. supraspinatus, m. infraspinatus, m. subscapularis), the long head tendon of m. biceps brachii, the subacromial-subdeltoid bursa, and the posterior recess of the glenohumeral joint. These structures are among the most common sources of pain during abduction, overhead work, and rotational movements. Dynamic imaging is a significant component of the examination, allowing assessment of impingement, tendinopathies, partial and complete ruptures, and signs of bursitis or synovitis.
